Program Guide

Who are we?

We as Assalam are a foundation who strive to find sustainable solutions for Africa’s problems via establishing networks with the youth and other social enterprises around the world.

Where are we located?

Currently, we are located in a coastal village called Mkunguni in Kizimkazi Region, in the South of Zanzibar.

What is this program aiming for?

The main goal of this program is to reach young local people with ambition to be a changemaker in the tourism world and to provide an opportunity for them to connect with different social entrepreneurs around the world, in order to create an exchange of ideas and understanding on “changemaking”, in other words, social entrepreneurship for a responsible tourism.

What do we offer?

This is a two days program which include hours of lectures and workshops and all day networking through village tour, campfire dance and supper.

We will have entrepreneurs who worked in the past to be a real changemaker with years of experience in their field of work. Also, you will be able to present your own ideas and projects and to work with them meanwhile.

Volunteering is one of our keystones, and that is why we wanted to integrate a two-hour volunteering program, for you to learn about yourself and also to get involved with the community more. You can teach English to children by playing games with them, give them workshops on something you are skilled in or help mothers by doing African rag dolls.

Aside from all of these, during your free time, the ocean is waiting for you to enjoy it to the fullest by the view, to swim or to cycle onshore.
