I volunteered 3 months in Assalam International School. I had the chance to learn so much from the children as well as from the people there. It was an unforgettable experience.This time will have a special place in my heart!

Während meines zweiwöchigen Aufenthalts im Ramadan 2025 bei Assalam durfte ich erleben, wie viel Gutes dort bewirkt wird. Die Herzlichkeit der Menschen und die besondere Stimmung im Ramadan haben mich tief berührt. Diese Zeit hat mir gezeigt, was Zusammenhalt, Dankbarkeit und Gemeinschaft wirklich bedeuten – eine Erfahrung, die ich nie vergessen werde.

I´m very happy to be here for some time, hopefully I can contribute some good things to this place.. and I´m glad our kids can be here too – it will be a sad goodbye for all of us when we will finally move on.. bur for sure it will be a place to come…

I had a lot of fun with the children and interacted with them in teaching but also playing. Also I connected to new people and learned about others stories and new opportunities.

I really adore the community, it’s fun and lively and feels healthy. The work is interesting, I always feel like I’m in a classroom doing new experiments everyday. It’s introduced to so many new cultures and attitudes, put a lot of warmth, love and laughter into my life and more than anything has brought back…

Assalam’ın gönüllüleri ve çalışanları arasında konuştuğumuz her şey, farkındalığa yönelik bir başka adımdı. İnsanların Afrika’nın gerçekte ne olduğu ve yardım etmenin gerçekten ne anlama gelmesi gerektiği hakkındaki bu dürüst bakış açısını anlamaya ve yaymaya çalıştığını görmek motive edici.

THE GREAT WARM LOVELY ATMOSPHERE AND WORK OF THE NGO was just amazing. I’VE LEARNT A LOT ABOUT BEING IN A DIVERSE ENVIRONMENT AND ABOUT WORK ITSELF.

It is an NGO with full of transparency, but also the wish of touching people’s lives directly attracted me more…

I don’t mind spending rest of my life doing what Assalam is doing. It’s a dream life actually.
