Assalam community Foundation has hosted more than 2000 volunteers through its many projects. Volunteers have taken part in our current projects as well as coming with their own skills and suggestions for programs. Assalam Community Foundation acts as an intermediary for people to make their ideas a reality and to distribute their aid

Why do you want to be a volunteer in Zanzibar?

Assalam Community Foundation (ACF) involves volunteers in its projects and dreams. Most of the projects of ACF are financed and furnished by volunteers. Volunteers can participate in the projects that ACF approves and their role is in accordance with their abilities, interests and desires.

Where to Volunteer in Tanzania?

Volunteers are very essencial for Assalam, it engages volunteers in their projects and most of Assalam’s projects are funded by volunteers directly or indirectly. Volunteers can participate and contribute to the projects to the extent that it suits their abilities and interests. But mainly Assalam needs/locates volunteers in following areas:

  • Teaching: Volunteer for three months or longer at the Children’s University, Assalam International school, or madrasas.
  • Permaculture: Participate in village cleanups and sustainable farming initiatives.
  • Content creation, visual design, and campaign support are all part of social media and marketing.
  • Finance and Fundraising: Plan activities, collect donations, and help with budgeting.
  • Humanitarian aid and social work: Provide outreach, food delivery, and house visits to families.
  • Empowering Women: Conduct workshops in the arts and skill development.
  • Café & Shop: Help with day-to-day management and client interaction.
  • Transport books and movies to nearby towns using a mobile library 
  • Youth Leadership: The Youth Center offers leadership programs for young people to mentor.
